Job summary

The USGA Golf Museum and Library is seeking a Special Collections Intern, a recent graduate or current student in Library Science or Archival Studies. The role offers hands-on experience with the world’s oldest sports museum, based at Liberty Corner, NJ, about 20 hours per week, typically 3 days on-site.

The internship may extend to 12 months and is paid. Intern will assist with processing, cataloging, digitization, and research support while contributing to exhibition preparations and public

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of digital asset management systems.
• Basic knowledge of metadata, library standards and resources.
• Ability to lift and move library materials up to 25 pounds.
• Passion for history and care of historic materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist with archival collections processing, arrangement, description and cataloging in the Museum’s collections management system (TMS).
• Support digitization and metadata cataloging in TMS Collections and TMS Media Studio.
• Aid in research requests and preparation of assets for exhibitions and projects.
