Job summary

The City of Omaha is seeking a part-time/seasonal grounds maintenance worker to care for golf course grounds. The role involves mowing, trimming, litter pickup, moving tee markers, raking sand traps, and basic equipment maintenance.

Must be at least 18 years old. Pay varies by experience. This is a part-time/seasonal position with benefits not applicable to this status.

Qualifications

• Must be able to understand written and oral instructions.
• Ability to push a lawn mower for a majority of the workday.
• Ability to safely lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 75 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass and trims trees and hedges.
• Picks up trash and litter and empties trash receptacles.
• Moves tee markers and putting green cups.
• Rakes and maintains sand traps.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment, including oil checks and fueling.
• Performs other duties as assigned within scope of this classification.

Nature of Work:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to understand written and oral instructions
• Ability to push a lawn mower from 75 to 100% of the work day
• Ability to use up to one hundred (100) pounds of force occasionally and seventy-five pounds of force frequently to move objects

Essential functions:

• Mows grass and trims trees and hedges
• Picks up trash and litter and empties trash receptacles
• Moves tee markers and putting green cups
• Rakes and maintains sand traps
• Performs primary maintenance on equipment, ensuring that oil is at the proper level and that they are filled with fuel
• Performs other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates within the scope of this classification

Special Qualifications:

Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
