Job summary

Topgolf El Segundo is seeking an energetic Golf Instructor to lead lessons, clinics, and junior programs. The role requires PGA Associate Level 2 or higher, strong swing knowledge, and experience teaching players from beginner to advanced levels.

You will use swing analysis and launch monitor tech, collaborate with a team, and help grow instruction revenue while maintaining Topgolf's standards and core values.

Qualifications

Overview

Golf Instructor –

Seeking a dynamic, energetic, innovative, and highly qualified Golf Instructor to assist and grow our golf instruction and player development programs. The ideal candidate will be a PGA Associate in good standing with a positive PGM completion rate. Preferred Level 3, however, will consider Level 2 applications based on experience and PGA PGM progress. All candidates must have a proven track record of success in teaching, coaching, and program development for juniors, adults, and groups.

We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and coachable golf instructor who enjoys teaching players of all levels from beginner to competitive levels. The ideal candidate understands golf fundamentals, can communicate clearly with the students, and is enthusiastic about professional growth.

Requirements
  • PGA Associate Level 2 or higher
  • Strong knowledge of golf swing fundamentals
  • 2-3 years' experience teaching golf lessons with experience coaching different levels of golfers preferably at a high-quality public or private facility.
  • Experience with swing analysis technology and launch monitor technology
  • Must be professional, punctual, organized, and teachable
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent Topgolf Core Values
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time including maneuvering up and down stairs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A high level of self-awareness, receptivity to change and integrity
  • Willingness to learn and follow Topgolf El Segundo programs and directives
  • Experience teaching juniors (preferred)
  • Passion for junior development and long-term student progress
  • Proven ability to develop innovative player development programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow instruction revenue and participation.
  • Collaborate in a professional, team-based environment
Essential Responsibilities
  • Understand and perform operations for all aspects of the golf instruction program, including private lessons, clinics, junior camps, group instruction and golf tournaments.
  • Coach in PGA Junior League and seasonal junior programs
  • Communicate with parents regularly regarding student progress
  • Work with the events team to promote and teach lessons at events
  • Manage and implement ideas for player development series at venue level
  • Walk the tee line on all levels during peak times (when not engaged in golf instruction) to market platform / give impromptu lessons
  • Supervise information requests regarding or pertaining to schedule of lessons and instructional series.
  • Help foster a positive, disciplined, and welcoming environment
  • Collaborate with the coaching staff and follow academy curriculum
  • Develop and implement player development programs to increase participation and revenue.
  • Be a role model to the recruits we mentor for assistant instructors and seasonal coaching staff.
  • Assist the academy team with setup, breakdown, and organization
  • Use academy training aids and teaching tools effectively
  • Collaborate with the Golf Shop to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Maintain accurate lesson records, scheduling, and revenue tracking.
  • Utilize swing analysis technology and learning theories, and integrate teaching aids in all programs
  • Promote the club's instructional programs through marketing, community outreach, and social media.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, service, and teaching excellence.
