Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC seeks an experienced Superintendent to oversee golf course maintenance, operations, and management. You will act as a liaison between the company, customer reps, and golf shop, ensuring daily course operations run smoothly and contacts remain active.

You will plan budgets, develop agronomic plans, supervise staff, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining strong customer relations. This role requires extensive turf knowledge and leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in golf course management and turf culture.
• Knowledge of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers maintenance.
• Administrative and executive ability with strong communication.
• Familiar with fertilizers, soil conditioners, irrigation and drainage.
• Ability to prepare for play and evaluate from a player's perspective.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct maintenance of all areas as per contract specs.
• Develop long-term property improvement plans with the customer.
• Supervise maintenance and repair of course equipment.
• Operate within annual budget estimates.
• Create annual agronomic plans within contract specs and budget.
• Procure and manage maintenance supplies and materials.
• Prepare and distribute maintenance reports as required.
• Manage golf course staff including hiring, training, and discipline.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Administer BrightView Safety and BV360 programs.
• Represent BrightView positively in appearance and conduct.
• Maintain effective employee and public relations; meet/exceed customer expectations.

Job Summary

• The Superintendentis responsible for the maintenance, operation, and management of a golf course. This role serves as a liaison between the company, the customer representative, and the golf shop on matters related to daily courseoperations. The Superintendent is easily contacted and remains in contact with the key employees on the golf course at alltimes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and direct maintenance of all areas within the scope and according to the technical specifications of the contract
• Partner with the customer to understand or develop a long-term property improvement plan
• Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment assigned to the course
• Prepare and operate within annual budget estimates
• Prepare and follow an annual agronomic plan that operates within the technical specifications of the contract and the annual budget
• Procure and manage supplies and materials to support maintenance activities
• Create and distribute reports of maintenance activities as required
• Manage golf course employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, discipline, and separation
• Protect the company’s interest through an awareness of and compliance with all applicable regulations, including course and company policies
• Administer all aspects of the BrightView Safety Program and the BrightView BV360 Management Program
• Represent BrightView Golf Maintenance positively and professionally, including attitude, appearance, and speech
• Maintain effective employee and public relations
• Meet or exceed external and internal customer expectations

Education and Experience:

• Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture
• Working knowledge of the construction, establishment, and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers
• Degree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant, or soil science
• High degree of administrative and executive ability, including effective oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency
• Certified and /or licensed for pesticide usage
• Familiar with the characteristics and proper use of fertilizers and soil conditioners
• Knowledge of irrigation, including watering practices, irrigation systems, pumps, wells, and automatic controls and drainage
• Ability to prepare the course for play in accordance with the rules of golf
• Ability to evaluate the course from the player’s perspective
• Valid driver’s license

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and computer printer
• Ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of walking, standing, and kneeling
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known
  allergic reactions should they occur.

Work Environment:

• Work in an indoor office and also outdoors during site walkthroughs and site supervision duties
