Job summary

Sea Pines Country Club is seeking a Starter to manage pace of play and direct players to the first tee. You will work closely with the Golf Professional to ensure smooth operation of daily play and course functions.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and 1–2 years’ experience, with a friendly, courteous demeanor and strong communication skills to serve members and guests effectively.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of golf rules and etiquette; able to explain to players.
• Polite, tactful and professional communication with guests.
• Ability to handle emergencies and maintain safety on course.

Responsibilities

• Direct pace of play and guide players to the first tee.
• Provide information on course conditions and play times.
• Dispense range balls per club policy and keep records for Golf Professional.
• Arrange players in starting order and assign appropriate golf cars/tees.
• Assist with tournaments, clinics and other events.
• Perform opening and closing procedures and attend staff meetings.
