Job summary

Naval Air Station Oceana, Golf Branch, Morale Welfare and Recreation Department, is seeking a golf course maintenance worker to keep tees, rough and adjacent areas in prime playing condition.

The role covers changing cups, mowing, edging, irrigation support, and seasonal maintenance, with extensive operation of turf equipment and basic repairs. A valid driver's license and willingness to work weekends/holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and write is preferred.
• General knowledge of lawn care, and ability to operate mowers, hand tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Must be able to drive vehicles such as pickup trucks.
• Ability to operate all types of turf equipment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tees, rough and adjacent areas to keep them in prime condition.
• Change cups, move tee markers, remove trash and mow relevant areas.
• Rake/edge bunkers, water greens, assist irrigation and drainage maintenance.
• Operate greens and other turf equipment; perform minor repairs and cleaning.
• Paint/maintain course accessories and assist with seasonal tasks.
