This is a hands‑on, outdoor position that supports daily course conditioning under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. The role involves manual labor, operation of specialized turf equipment, and teamwork in a fast‑paced environment, often with early morning starts.

This is typically a full‑time or seasonal non‑exempt position, with opportunities for advancement in turf management for motivated individuals with experience or relevant education (such as from Texas A&M’s turfgrass programs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Turf and Course Maintenance: Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, collars, approaches, and bunker banks using walk‑behind and riding mowers. Perform trimming, edging, string trimming, and blowing of debris.
  • Bunker and Setup Duties: Rake and maintain sand bunkers, move tee markers, change hole cups/locations, repair divots and ball marks, and set up the course for daily play.
  • Irrigation and Cultural Practices: Assist with irrigation system repairs (e.g., replacing heads), hand watering, aerification, verticutting, topdressing, and other turf health practices.
  • Landscaping and Grounds Care: Plant, trim, prune, fertilize, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and ornamental areas around the course, clubhouse, and club facilities. Pick up litter, remove leaves, and perform general cleanup.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Safely operate and perform basic preventive maintenance on mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, blowers, chainsaws, and other powered tools. Report major repair needs.
  • Special Projects: Assist with sod installation, seeding, soil preparation, chemical/fertilizer applications (under supervision), drainage work, and other maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Safety and Standards: Follow all safety protocols, club policies, and environmental best practices. Maintain a clean, professional appearance and positive team attitude.
