Job summary

Sun City Hilton Head is seeking a full-time Irrigation Technician for the golf course Turf center. The role focuses on preventative irrigation maintenance, seasonal winterization, and prompt repairs to ensure optimal water distribution across the facility.

Qualified candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and irrigation experience on golf courses. Prior maintenance experience is a definite plus, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college/technical certificate preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Golf course irrigation experience is a major plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on the irrigation system, including lake re-circulation and water features.
• Identifies wet/dry areas for sprinkler head adjustments.
• Inventories and stocks irrigation parts and tools to minimize down time.
• Maintains pump station knowledge and repairs.
• Operates and repairs the irrigation system, including leaks, valves, electrical system, and control wiring.
• Reports irrigation breaks to Head Irrigation Technician or Superintendent and keeps a daily repair log.
• Prioritizes irrigation issues and manages workload efficiently.
• Conducts monthly checks of sprinkler heads across the golf facility.
• Inspects system components to ensure proper operation.
• Performs winterization and system blowouts for all water lines and pump stations.
