Job summary

Esplanade Golf & Country Club Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton, FL is seeking a full-time Golf Course Irrigation Technician to support our irrigation system across the golf facility. You will maintain sprinklers, pumps, electrical systems, and control wiring while helping to keep water features and lake recirculation running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have golf course maintenance/irrigation experience, can lift heavy objects, and are able to multitask and prioritize.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; college/technical certificate preferred.
• Minimum 3–6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Lift heavy objects as part of the role.
• Ability to multitask, problem-solve and prioritize effectively.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on the irrigation system including lake re-circulation and water features.
• Determines wet and dry areas for sprinkler head adjustments.
• Inventories and stocks irrigation parts and tools to minimize downtime.
• Maintains pump station maintenance knowledge and records.
• Operates, maintains and repairs the irrigation system including leaks and electrical components.
• Reports major irrigation breaks to Head Irrigation Technician or Superintendent and logs repairs.

We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing togrow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate ofTroon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs preventative maintenance on the irrigation system including the lake re-circulation system and water features.
• Determines wet and dry areas for adjustments of sprinkler heads.
• Properly inventories and stocks all irrigation parts and tools in order to minimize down time.
• Maintains working knowledge of pump station maintenance requirements.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs a complex irrigation system, including leaks on the distribution lines, valve risers, electrical system, computer, and irrigation control wire.
• Reports any serious irrigation breaks immediately to the Head Irrigation Technician or Superintendent and maintains a daily log of completed repairs.
• Prioritizes irrigation breaks and uses time efficiently.
• Conducts monthly checks of all sprinkler heads on the entire golf facility.
• Routinely inspects irrigation system components to ensure system is operating properly.
• Responsible for winterization and blowout of irrigation system, including all water lines, valves and pump stations.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Prior golf course maintenance and irrigation experience is a major plus.
• Must have ability tolift heavy objects.
• Must be able to multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize well.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Certificate from college or technical school is preferred; and a minimum three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
