Job summary

Kalamazoo Country Club in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a grounds team member to maintain the golf course and landscape areas. You will perform daily mowing, planting, cleanup, and related tasks to support high-quality member experiences.

The role requires physical stamina, outdoor work in varying conditions, and the ability to operate standard turf equipment. Join a collaborative team focused on service excellence and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability and willingness to work extended hours, including weekend and holiday shifts.
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors, pre-dawn hours and adverse conditions such as heat, cold and rain.
• Perform manual/physical labor for extended periods.
• Physical agility to push/pull, squat, twist, turn, sit or stand for extended periods.
• Lift a minimum of 50lbs., unassisted.
• Ability to safely operate motorized equipment.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Comply with all rules and regulations as stated, whether verbal or written.
• Work as a productive, respectful team member with other golf course / club staff

Responsibilities

• Daily mowing of golf course and landscape turf.
• General landscape maintenance with hand tools.
• Operate debris blowers, string trimmers, chainsaws and other small equipment.
• Operate golf course carts and utility vehicles.
• Golf course setup work including bunker maintenance and hole location changes.
• Work on landscape beds, watering flowers, planting, clean up.
• Clean equipment and maintenance areas.
• Assist in all tasks and duties as assigned

What You’ll Be Doing

• Daily mowing of both golf course and landscape turf, using walking and riding mowers
• General landscape maintenance tasks using rakes, shovels and other landscape hand tools
• Operation of debris blowers, string trimmers, chainsaws and other small power tools, trimmers and equipment
• Operating golf course carts and utility vehicles
• Golf course set up work, including sand bunker maintenance, divot filling, filling water coolers, changing hole locations, moving tee markers, etc.
• Working on landscape beds, watering flowers, planting, clean up, etc.
• Cleaning of equipment and maintenance areas
• Assist in all tasks and duties as assigned
