Job summary

The City of Mesquite is seeking a Golf Food and Beverage Worker to provide friendly service while preparing and serving food and drinks at the golf course concession. You will operate the cash register, handle payments, and keep the concession area clean to meet sanitation standards.

Applicants should have at least six months of customer service experience in a food and beverage setting, be at least 18, and be able to obtain TABC and Food Handlers permits before starting.

Qualifications

• Six months customer service experience in a food & beverage environment preferred.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license.
• Must obtain TABC certification prior to start of employment.
• Must obtain a valid Food Handlers Permit prior to start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and serve food and drinks to golf course customers.
• Operate the cash register and make change to ensure accurate transactions.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of concession area and equipment.
• Assist with food preparation and servicing as needed.

Job description

Salary: $13.00/hr.

The Golf Food and Beverage Worker will have excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude while preparing and serving food and drinks to golf course customers. In addition, the Golf Food and Beverage Worker will operate the cash register for the collection of money and to make change; responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep of the concession area to maintain the highest possible standards of sanitation.

SUPERVISION

1. All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
2. Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures.
3. Prepares and serves all food and drinks to golf course customers.
4. Interact with customers and clients in a pleasant and professional manner.
5. Operates all food preparation equipment in a safe manner.
6. Operates cash register and makes change to maintain accurate cash handling procedures at all times.
7. Washes and cleans equipment, food preparation areas and tables, while maintaining the highest possible standards of sanitation.
8. Shelves individual commercial cans of food and other food items and takes inventory.
9. Uses cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with specified safety protocols.
10. Maintain a safe working area.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties as assigned.

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

EDUCATION

Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

EXPERIENCE

Six month's customer services experience working in a food and beverage environment preferred.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Must be able to obtain a valid Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) certification prior to start of employment.

Must be able to obtain a valid Food Handlers Permit prior to start of employment.

WORK SCHEDULE

Flexible schedule

20-25 hours per week

Monday - Sunday; 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
