Job summary

Delcastle Golf Course in Wilmington, DE is seeking a full-time Mechanic to perform major and mechanical repairs on gasoline and diesel power equipment, and to keep all equipment in safe, operable condition.

Certificate from college or technical school, or 3–6 months related experience is required; valid driver's license and English communication abilities are preferred. Benefits include healthcare, 401(k) with employer match, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Certificate from college or technical school; or 3–6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs major and mechanical repairs on gasoline and diesel power equipment; keeps all equipment in efficient and operable condition at all times.
• Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment; reviews expenses and purchases with department manager for approval; orders parts/supplies as needed and tracks expenses.
• Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects in golf course maintenance equipment; performs grinding/sharpening and overhauls of motors, reels, braking systems.
• Maintains records of preventative maintenance, repairs, parts ordered; keeps up-to-date knowledge of equipment and tools; adheres to safe work practices.
