Job summary

St. Cloud School District 742 seeks a DECA Advisor to teach leadership skills and guide students in school-wide activities and events after hours. You will help students make decisions in peer environments and support responsible behavior within extracurricular programs.

Collaborate with Activities Director and Building Principals to plan and implement leadership development activities, ensuring equitable opportunities and safety for all participants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
• Ability to work with students in groups and individually.
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
• Positive, high energy and committed.
• Firm understanding of education-based interscholastic activities/athletics.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership that promotes personal growth and safety for all participants.
• Monitor the work of all members to ensure their safety.
• Set the group's meeting schedule and meet with students before, during, and after the school day.

POSITION SUMMARY

The DECA Advisor works with students to teach and refine leadership skills in peer environments, and assist students with decision‑making in building wide activities and events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Provide leadership that promotes personal growth, confidence, and in a manner that is equitable for all participants
• Monitor the work of all members to ensure their safety
• Set the group's meeting schedule; will also work individually with students throughout the week (this may include meeting before, during and after the school day)
• Other duties as assigned
