Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Engineering Technician to ensure effective, timely technical support and QA/QC for all underground needs, enabling the Engineering Department Support Group to deliver results safely and sustainably.

Responsibilities include QA/QC of ground support, installation and maintenance of underground instrumentation, participation in safety audits, and maintaining testing records. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and strong teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• Previous blasting experience preferred and must meet federal/state explosives requirements.
• Explosive handling experience in a mining environment preferred.
• Strong lifting capability and willingness to handle up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely technical support and QA/QC for underground needs.
• Assist Engineering Department Support Group to meet safety and sustainability goals.
• QA/QC of ground support testing and instrumentation.
• Support safety audits, training, and scheduling.
• Maintain testing records (paper and digital).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will ensure effective, timely delivery of technical support and QA/QC needs for all underground needs by enabling the Engineering Department Support Group to deliver results meeting or exceeding our business goals in a safe, sustainable manner.

• Ensure effective, timely delivery of technical support and QA/QC needs for all underground needs by enabling the Engineering Department Support Group to deliver results meeting or exceeding our business goals in a safe, sustainable manner.
• QA/QC of ground support (shotcrete and CRF strength testing, bolt pulls, gradation analyses, shotcrete slump testing)
• Installation, maintenance, trouble shooting, and reporting of UG instrumentation.
• Participation in safety audits, training, and scheduling.
• Maintenance of all testing records, in both paper and digital format.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous Blasting experience preferred
• Meet Federal and State eligibility requirements on handling explosives required
• Explosive handling experience, especially in a mining environment preferred
• Heavy equipment operating experience preferred
• Ability to carry at least 50 pounds required
• Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills required
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team required
• Satisfactory safety, performance, and attendance records required
