Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a mid-career software engineer for our Atlanta team to build scalable, modern platforms powering critical business services and cloud-based evolution. You will own end-to-end lifecycle from development to platform operations, including CLI tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, strong Golang, and hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Golang.
• Experience developing and supporting applications in Linux/macOS environments.
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including data structures, algorithms, system design, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience designing, building, or supporting distributed systems with a focus on scalability, performance, availability, and observability.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application development.
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Git-based source control and modern development workflows (GitHub, GitLab, etc.).
• Experience implementing or supporting CI/CD pipelines, platform engineering practices, and developer productivity tooling.
• Understanding of infrastructure and platform concepts, including networking, compute, storage, security, containers, and platform operations.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps, and Kubernetes ecosystem tools.
• Experience building or integrating GraphQL APIs (types, queries, and mutations) in backend services.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Professional experience administering or developing with Bazel or other large-scale build systems.
• Experience with AI application development using modern LLM platforms, including agentic workflows, skills/tool definitions, prompt engineering, model evaluation, or integration with commercial and open-source AI models.
• Experience developing CLI tools and developer workflows.
• Experience creating or maintaining Kubernetes Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) and custom controllers/operators.
• Experience troubleshooting complex build, deployment, or infrastructure-related issues across large distributed systems.
• Experience with developer platforms or internal engineering productivity initiatives.

An Insight Global FinTech client is looking for a mid-career software engineer to join their Atlanta-based team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of scalable, modern platforms that power critical business services and support their continued evolution in cloud-based technologies. You will be part of a unique team within the their platform that owns the end-to-end software lifecycle—from development and build systems to testing, release automation, and platform operations. The scope of work is broad and includes software development, CLI tooling, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code development, and root cause analysis of complex engineering issues. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working across different layers of the stack, and building systems that are robust, scalable, and impactful.
