This is a full-time position with a general schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Driver’s license is required.
Under general supervision, the Theme Park Shop Mechanic is responsible for the proper operation of amusement rides during normal and unusual situations. Duties include welding, machining, carpentry, repairing electric or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment, repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. Monitoring rides using control panels, observing rides in motion, and enforcing park rules and safety guidelines in accordance with Mt. Olympus’s Policies and Procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain ride cleanliness and sanitation, including sweeping ride enclosures, cleaning structures and seats, performing routine maintenance, safety inspections, and other duties.
- Use hand tools, examine parts for defects, test, diagnose, repair, replace, and reassemble parts on go-karts and roller coasters.
- Respond quickly to situations such as power failures, system faults, shutdowns, smoke alarms, and guest evacuations.
- Work around high noise levels from amusement rides and equipment.
Go-Kart Mechanic Requirements:
- Be flexible to work at different ride and attraction positions, and knowledgeable of all workstation requirements.
- Willing to perform all other duties assigned by management and work effectively independently or in a group.
- Comfortable with heights.
- Mechanically inclined or repair experience preferred.
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to perform basic math calculations.
- Capable of moving equipment, including pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting.
- Able to stand for extended periods, walk, crouch, crawl, kneel, or stoop.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Driver’s license is required.
