Job summary

Talos is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our Dealer team for the Summer 2027. This intern will work on a critical project related to our high-performance trading systems, contributing to tools that support trading decision-making and performance evaluation.

This is a 12-week internship running from June 1, 2027 to August 27, 2027. The Dealer platform provides trading, liquidity management, risk controls, and post-trade infrastructure that enables broker-dealers to service

Qualifications

• Class of 2028 pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency in at least one compiled language (Go, C++, Java).
• At least one previous internship involving working on backend systems in a production environment, preferably in a user-facing context
• Knowledge of relational databases (Postgres).
• Past experience with trading systems is a plus
• Detail-oriented, self driven, analytical, and enthusiastic about working on impactful projects
• Strong communication skills, with an ability to convey technical concepts clearly
• Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a collaborative team environment
• Energetic, creative, and a self-starter who can manage tasks autonomously
• Local to NYC HQ

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Trading team to define project scope, requirements, and milestones
• Prepare design documentation and actively participate in architectural discussions with team members
• Build features in Go to enhance Talos's Order Management System (OMS), which is responsible for making all trading related decisions for orders submitted into Talos to ensure best execution
• Add analytics and metrics to measure impact of your changes while incorporating feedback and iterating based on team input
• Demonstrate project progress through regular demos
