Job summary

Applied Research Laboratories, a UT Austin unit, seeks a GNSS DSP Research Associate to advance digital signal processing for GPS/GNSS and RF applications. You will conduct high-level research, publish findings, and collaborate across teams on algorithm development and testing.

The role emphasizes independent work, technical leadership, and occasional travel, with a strong focus on interface-defined software implementations and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics, engineering, or other applied science.
• Experience developing software in C++ or Python for scientific computing.
• 1+ year post-graduate experience in statistical/computational algorithms.
• Peer-reviewed publications.
• Experience presenting scientific content to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level independent DSP research for GNSS and RF applications.
• Publish and present research internally and externally; engage with sponsors and conferences.
• Implement software algorithms in C++ and Python; design interfaces and tests.
• Provide guidance to other staff and student employees.
• Provide technical leadership and identify new research directions.
• Travel occasionally for meetings and related activities.
