Job summary

Pivotal is seeking a GNC Engineer II to focus on flight controls, tuning gains in the CONDUIT environment and validating stability and performance across the Helix platform. You will collaborate with firmware, aeromechanical, and flight test teams to ensure safe, predictable handling across the flight envelope.

The ideal candidate has a strong grounding in linear control theory, aircraft dynamics, and hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and script-based data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of industry experience in GNC or flight controls or advanced research.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing control laws against stability and performance criteria.
• Tune controller gains using CONDUIT across the flight envelope.
• Assess actuator and sensor dynamics, delays, and saturation on stability.
• Update gains in MATLAB/Simulink models and support flight software release.
• Run Monte Carlo studies to evaluate robustness and identify worst-case conditions.
• Set up automated integration tests simulating complete flight missions.
