Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is a federally funded R&D center delivering space solutions and serving defense, civil, and commercial customers. The Guidance Analysis Department seeks a GNC Engineer to support launch vehicles and missile systems, located in El Segundo, CA, with at least 4 days onsite.

Roles include independent technical leadership, program support, and cross-team collaboration. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, 1+ year of industry

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1 year or more of industry work experience.
• Working knowledge of control systems, inertial sensors, and actuators for spacecraft/launch vehicles.
• Experience modeling dynamic systems.
• Willingness to travel domestically/internationally as required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Assess control system performance for launch, missile defense, and missile systems.
• Perform linear and nonlinear control system analyses.
• Derive multi-body, flexible body dynamics equations for supported vehicles.
• Support multiple programs and act as technical authority or project lead.
• Provide oversight, guidance, and technical advice on customer projects.
