Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA, is seeking a GNC Engineer for the Starshield ADCS team to design and implement satellite GNC software, balance thermal and power budgets, and ensure fault-tolerant navigation and control across mission phases.

You will work on high-fidelity 6DOF models, HITL testing, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with thermal, power, and communications teams. Proficiency in C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink and active clearance are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer science/software engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with C++, Python, and/or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience with attitude determination and/or state estimation algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of satellite GNC software across mission concepts and flight phases.
• Design CONOPs balancing thermal constraints, power budgets, momentum management, comms, and payload pointing needs.
• Develop, validate, and optimize onboard GNC algorithms for autonomy and fault tolerance.
