Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a motivated engineer with experience in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems and modeling & simulation.

The candidate will support a team delivering modeling, simulation, and analytical products of kinetic weapon system concepts for the Missile Defense Agency. You will work on high-visibility missile system programs, developing and refining 6-DOF models, collaborating with senior engineers, and preparing analytical reports and

Qualifications

• US citizenship and an active secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (MS preferred).
• 3-5 years of hands-on missile systems or related modeling & simulation experience.
• Familiarity with 6-DOF simulation models including aerodynamics, guidance, navigation, and basic filtering (Kalman).
• Exposure to modeling and simulation tools including FORTRAN, C++, MATLAB, and Python.
• Ability to conduct system-level and subsystem-level analyses to support requirements development and performance assessment.
• Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct performance analysis and support design, integration, and testing of GNC systems for missile programs.
• Perform modeling and simulation tasks using 6-DOF simulations to evaluate dynamics and performance.
• Develop, modify, and run 6-DOF models to analyze GNC performance.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to prototype, test, and refine weapon concepts using legacy simulations in FORTRAN and C++.
• Produce analytical products, technical reports, and presentations for DoD programs.
• Assist with requirements analysis, scenario development, and tool improvements for ongoing missile programs.
• Maintain and enhance simulation fidelity by integrating models from different sources and languages.
