Job summary

Atrium Health in Winston-Salem is seeking a candidate to develop, implement, and manufacture PET radiopharmaceuticals in a GMP environment for preclinical and clinical imaging research. You will perform a range of chemistry-based operations, including organic and analytical chemistry, and validate equipment and procedures.

The role involves training to perform radiochemistry and QC operations, maintaining SOPs, and ensuring radiation safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field with coursework in Organic or Inorganic Chemistry, or Pharmacology.
• Academic training or experience in analytical methods, chemical synthesis, or GMP methods is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Executes manufacturing of radiopharmaceutical productions for preclinical and/or clinical research in the GMP lab facility, following all radiation safety protocols.
• Training will be provided to perform radiochemistry and QC operations following all safety protocols.
• Uses specialized education and training to support process development and develops methods for analysis of process intermediates and final products.
• Develops, implements and follows SOPs for production parameters.
• Writes, revises and executes batch records following cGMP guidelines and SOPs.
• Attends seminars, training sessions and workshops to maintain competency in evolving radiopharmaceutical productions and regulations.
• Operates equipment including HPLC, GC, biosafety cabinets, incubators, chemistry hoods and radiochemistry hot cells; assists in validation and troubleshooting.
• Maintains GMP cleanroom environment with routine cleaning.
• Write SOPs and maintain detailed lab notes and batch records.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement.
