Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL is seeking a Cleaning Specialist Grade 2 to perform microbial control cleaning in facilities manufacturing products for sale, with responsibilities aligned to cGMP and FDA oversight.

You will document work procedures, prepare cleaning solutions, and operate cleaning equipment. The role requires reading and following quality documents and strong teamwork, with physical stamina to meet daily shift demands.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and comprehend written information including quality documents and procedures.
• Must be able to write legibly in English and complete accurate records per cGMP.
• Must be able to operate a computer to complete required training and records.
• Must be able to work alone or as part of a team.
• Physical requirements include standing for 7 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequent movement.

Responsibilities

• Performs cross contamination cleaning in areas requiring microbial control.
• Completes cGMP documentation of training and cleaning.
• Prepares cleaning solutions per cGMP instructions.
• Performs microbial cleaning on walls, ceilings and floors.
• Completes preventive maintenance work orders to meet cGMP requirements.
• Follows gowning, entrance, and exit procedures for controlled environments.
• Operates cleaning equipment and PPE.
• Performs safety and maintenance inspections on equipment.
