Due to our business growth, we are seeking an experienced GM Certified Mechanic/Technician (Flat Rate) with PA State Emissions and Inspection License in our Service Department in Pleasant Hills, PA. Customer Service is our primary focus, and the ideal candidate will deliver excellent customer service daily.

All applicants are required to successfully complete pre-employment screenings. Valid driver's license required. ASE Certification preferred.

DUTIES
Position Overview

The Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned, in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Job Functions
  1. Receive repair orders from dispatcher and perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, following dealership and factory standards.
  2. Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs.
  3. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if under warranty or at customer request.
  4. Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is needed.
  5. Inform service advisor immediately if additional work is necessary, if outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  6. Document work performed.
  7. Supervise apprentice technicians as assigned.
  8. Attend factory-sponsored training and stay updated with factory technical bulletins.
  9. Keep customers' cars clean and maintain shop area cleanliness.
  10. Accountable for dealership-owned tools.
  11. Follow all safety and environmental regulations, including hazardous waste disposal.
  12. Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of work.
  13. Follow safety rules and procedures endorsed by Bowser Automotive Inc.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • ASE Certification preferred.
  • PA Emissions and Inspection License.
  • General mechanical skills.
  • Good driving record.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Good judgment and ability to read and understand instructions.

  • Positive interaction with colleagues.
