Dave Smith Motors, a Sonic Automotive family dealership in Kellogg, ID, is seeking a GM Certified Automotive Technician. The role focuses on heavy line work for Ram 4500/5500 and GM medium duty lines, performing repairs to dealer and factory standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of dealership experience, GM brand repair experience, a valid driver’s license, and own tools. You must pass pre-employment testing; pay ranges $45–$60 per hour and benefits are available.

Formación

• 3+ years of proven Service Technician experience in a dealership or similar automotive repair setting.
• Experience with GM brand repairs.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Must have own set of tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Authorized to work in the USA and pass pre-employment testing.

Responsabilidades

• Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and other vehicle issues.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other automotive systems as outlined on repair orders.
• Work efficiently to diagnose malfunctions and complete repairs within established timeframes.
• Collaborate with service advisors, technicians, lead technician, foreman, and parts department to prioritize and schedule repairs.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections to ensure all repairs meet or exceed industry standards or verify if additional safety of service work is required.
• Address any issues or discrepancies promptly with Service Advisor, team lead, or foreman (parts, time promised, etc).
• Document all diagnostic and repair activities accurately.
• Complete repair orders and maintain detailed records of services performed.
• Attend factory-sponsored training classes to stay informed about the latest automotive technologies and industry trends.

Job Description

TheAutomotiveService Technicianis responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

• All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
• All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Heavy line (rebuilding and replacing engines and transmissions) and/or EV experience.
• EV certified /GM certified
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications or Manufacturer training
• 5+ years as a Service Technician

Compensation (Hourly: Flat Rate):

• $45.00 - 60.00 /hour +
  • Depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications

(The Service Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $45.00 and $60.00.
