Job Description
Salary: $27.50/hr + $1.00 shift premium
Hourly base is $57,200 a year.
Overtime available.
SUMMARY
This position assists the Supervisor in managing and maintaining the overall Finishing Department operations. The role involves supporting process improvements, maintaining a positive attitude, and emphasizing safety, quality, and production. The incumbent provides training, coaching, and team building to enhance employee involvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include, but are not limited to:
1. Fully knowledgeable in maintaining, operating, and setting up all machinery in the Finishing Department, including:
a. Domino 110
b. Visionfold 110 and Cartonpack
c. Alpina with Easy Feeder and Cartonpack II
d. Masterfold with Easy Feeder, Batch Inverter, and Cartonpack II
e. HHS gluing system on four gluers
f. Heiber Schroeder window machines
2. Support production, safety, and quality goals set by the supervisor.
3. Review job tickets for scheduling, process flow, and customer specifications.
4. Check materials for accuracy and completeness before and after jobs.
5. Adhere to departmental SOPs, quality standards, and meet deadlines.
6. Utilize company computer programs effectively for processing.
7. Communicate clearly with operators and crews about job variables.
8. Train and mentor operators, assistants, and inspectors to improve skills.
9. Manage departmental supplies efficiently, maintaining low inventory levels.
10. Keep machine maintenance logs and oversee repairs, refraining from repairs beyond training or OEM specifications.
11. Approve first articles and support QA processes.
12. Fill in for other departmental roles as needed to ensure continuous production.
13. Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV).
14. Maintain organization and cleanliness of workstations and department.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in folding carton industry or related field.
2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Encore modules.
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
4. Technical problem-solving abilities.
5. Knowledge of materials, processes, and procedures.
6. Team building skills with high ethical standards.
7. Ability to facilitate process improvement teams.
8. Leadership qualities.
9. Sense of urgency.
10. High sensitivity to people and team dynamics.
