Job summary

American Games is seeking a Gluer Machine Operator in Council Bluffs, IA to join our Press team. This hands-on role requires taking ownership of a high-speed gluing line and mentoring crew members.

You will set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the Gluer Machine, coordinate activities, ensure quality, and meet daily production goals, while maintaining safety.

Candidates with 4+ years in print production or manufacturing and experience with finishing equipment are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

American Games is looking for an experienced Gluer Machine Operator to join our Press team!

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who understands high-speed production equipment, mechanical troubleshooting and print manufacturing and is ready to take ownership of a machine and help lead a production crew.

What You'll Do

As a Gluer Machine Operator, you'll set up, operate, monitor and troubleshoot gluing equipment used to manufacture our charitable and lottery gaming products. You'll also coordinate crew activities, monitor quality and help ensure daily production goals are achieved safely and efficiently.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Set up, operate and monitor the Gluer Machine to maintain efficient, high-quality production.
  • Manage sheet transport, registration and glue application systems throughout production runs.
  • Complete machine start-up procedures, setup and calibration and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to reduce downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Perform quality checks on glue patterns, plate impressions, registration and machine settings.
  • Ensure materials and supplies are available to keep scheduled production moving.
  • Lead and coordinate feeder operators, helpers and other crew members to achieve daily production goals.
  • Train and cross-train backup operators and production crew members.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, upkeep and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate production reports, logs and shift documentation.
  • Communicate production requirements, special instructions and potential issues with Supervisors and crew members.
  • Promptly identify and report safety, quality, equipment or production concerns.
  • Assist with Feeder Operator, Checker or other production responsibilities when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Other duties as required.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for a mechanically inclined, experienced machine operator who can troubleshoot equipment, maintain quality and confidently lead a production crew.

  • Four (4)+ years of machine operation experience, preferably in print production or manufacturing.
  • Experience with finishing equipment, automated machinery or high-speed production equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, specifications, blueprints and quality requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate, train and guide production crew members.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while meeting production deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency with the ability to learn new systems and software.
  • Ability to work independently while also leading and contributing to a production team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
