Job summary

Cherokee Nation Integrated Health (CNIH) is hiring a Mid-Level GLP Studies & Immunology Technician (Lab Tech IV) at Fort Detrick, Maryland. The role supports bacteriology research, immunology studies, and animal models in BSL-2/BSL-3 settings, performing validations, assays, and data analysis.

The successful candidate will have a related science degree and hands-on experience with RT-PCR, MIC, and complement fixation assays, plus strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in bacteriology, microbiology, molecular biology or related laboratory research activities.
• Experience performing laboratory assays and molecular techniques (e.g., complement fixation, MIC testing, RT-PCR).
• Experience supporting animal research (murine and/or non-human primate).
• Experience in BSL-2/BSL-3 environments and safety protocols.
• Experience with equipment validation, inventory management, and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment and method validations annually.
• Conduct complement fixation assays and MIC testing.
• Support small animal studies using murine models.
• Perform RT-PCR analyses to support bacteriology research.
• Order equipment and supplies; manage inventory in BSL-2/BSL-3 settings.
• Prepare technical reports, SOPs, and manuscripts; present findings.
