Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a skilled frontend/backend engineer to own features from the Node.js BFF layer to pixel-perfect UI. You will work with server, native, design, and QA teams to deliver high-quality, accessible experiences for a global user base.

You will influence performance, security, and system design decisions, with opportunities to contribute to SSR workflows and modern frontend tooling. This role invites rapid growth on a lean, impactful team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years delivering production-grade, customer-facing web software
• 2+ years building Node.js BFF layers for complex UIs at scale
• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks (React and/or Vue)
• Ability to drive ambiguous deliverables independently with milestone accountability
• Strong CS fundamentals applied to architecture decisions
• Working knowledge of web security concepts in frontend and API design
• Experience with SSR frameworks (Nuxt/Next.js) and build tools like Vite/Webpack
• CI/CD pipelines and frontend testing (Cypress or Playwright)
• Experience contributing to a design system with accessibility WCAG 2.1 AA+

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end from Node.js BFF layer to pixel-perfect UI
• Collaborate with server, native, design, and QA engineers to ship high-quality products
• Make performance, security, and accessibility a constant priority
• Architect and iterate on scalable frontend/backend solutions for a global user base
• Contribute to design systems and ensure consistency across products
• Advise on frontend best practices and mentoring for teammates
