Job summary

Solana Foundation seeks a VP of Communications to own the global narrative and the network’s reputation end to end. You will set the handful of core messages, build tier-one relationships, and lead incident responses with a fast, precise, hands-on approach.

You will write statements, design systems for a small team to operate at scale, and coordinate with policy, legal, and ecosystem teams to ensure credible, timely communication during crises and major developments.

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years in communications, with meaningful time in a high-scrutiny environment.
  • Experience running crises or high-stakes situations where facts were unclear.
  • Direct relationships with tier-one business, financial and technology journalists.
  • Ability to hold technical conversations and translate them for non‑specialists.
  • Proven track record of influence across coalitions, consortia, or open‑source projects.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain a global narrative for Solana built around defensible claims and focused messaging.
  • Build and personally maintain tier-one media relationships across U.S. business, financial, technology, and crypto press.
  • Own reputation and issues management across network incidents, client bugs, and other high‑stakes moments with defined processes and pre‑drafted language.
  • Provide executive positioning and communications counsel to Foundation leadership, offering candid pushback when needed.
  • Build a bench of credible external voices who can independently explain and advocate for Solana.
  • Provide communications support to ecosystem teams, including launch support and founder media training.
  • Translate protocol and governance changes for diverse audiences, from voters to readers with no background in blockchain.
  • Coordinate with Policy and Legal on regulatory moments and the Solana Policy Institute.
  • Develop a measurement framework focused on narrative accuracy and reputation outcomes.
