Job summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Associate Director of Study Management to lead a Global Trial Leaders and Trial Managers team within the Study Management Organization. You will oversee staff development, resourcing, and trial delivery, ensuring alignment with the Clinical Development Plan and program goals.

The role emphasizes risk mitigation, operational strategy, and cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Compliance, and Quality.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree required.
• 8+ years of clinical research at CRO/biotech/pharma with 3+ years leading end-to-end global trials incl. Phase 3.
• 2–5 years direct people leadership in clinical operations.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical development process.
• Strong decision-making, analytical and financial management skills.
• Ability to manage all aspects of trial execution.
• Proven leadership in matrixed, global environments.
• Strong project planning/management, communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Global Trial Leaders and Trial Managers in Study Management Organization.
• Deliver operational strategy aligned with Clinical Development Plan and budgeting.
• Chair or support CTWG for trial execution and governance.
• Mitigate trial risks and coordinate cross-functional actions.
• Ensure inspection readiness and high-quality oversight of trials.
• Develop staff capabilities and foster performance and growth.
• Collaborate with Finance, Regulatory, Quality, Data Management and others.
