Job summary

Puckett Machinery Company is seeking Traveling Engine Service Technicians to support marine, industrial, and petroleum power systems, performing top-end and major in-frame overhauls of large CAT engines. Positions involve extensive overnight travel (80%) to domestic and international locations.

Assignments are dispatched from the greater Jackson, MS area with potential domiciling outside Mississippi. Competitive pay from $25 to $40 per hour plus comprehensive benefits and ongoing technical

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Diesel engine, construction equipment and/or truck engine training preferred.
• Two years of hands-on diesel technician experience with CAT or competitor engines desirable.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, adjust, install, and repair major overhauls on marine, industrial, and petroleum power systems.
• Troubleshoot and identify problems via failure analysis.
• Test and align engine systems and components.
• Assess part reusability per manufacturer guidelines.
• Order parts as needed and file detailed service reports.
• Maintain professional appearance and stay current with tooling and systems updates.
