Job summary

Forterra is seeking a Global Trade Manager to own Forterra’s export/import compliance program, coordinate licensing for products, software, and data, and guide cross-functional teams. The role includes policy, training, audits, and continuous improvement with one direct report.

Ideal candidates understand technology, deemed exports, and hardware exports; they will advance the company’s ability to operate globally while ensuring compliance with ITAR, EAR, and related regulations.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of export and import compliance experience.
• Deep knowledge of ITAR and EAR, with working knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and OFAC sanctions.
• Experience preparing or familiarity with DSP-5s, TAAs, and MLAs in DECCS and license applications in SNAP-R.
• Ability to read and interpret export licenses and related compliance documents.
• Experience writing and implementing trade compliance policies, procedures, and training.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Licensing and Authorizations: prepare, submit, and manage licenses and agreements; track status and report to stakeholders.
• Classification and Technology Controls: determine export/import classifications and guide internal teams on controls.
• Shipments and Imports: oversee export shipments and import compliance, including recordkeeping and screening.
