Merck seeks an Executive Director, Technology Procurement to lead the global sourcing strategy for technology across the enterprise. You will partner with senior technology and business leaders to shape procurement strategy, drive value, manage supplier risk, and support the company’s digital transformation agenda.

This role requires deep expertise in technology sourcing, executive stakeholder management, and complex negotiations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in technology procurement and strategic sourcing.
• Strong knowledge of technology vendors, service providers, and procurement operating models.
• Proven experience leading enterprise technology sourcing and complex negotiations across software, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and professional services.
• Experience leading global sourcing initiatives in a matrixed organization.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsabilités

• Lead global procurement strategy for technology categories including software, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecom, data & analytics, AI, hardware, and professional services.
• Partner with senior technology leaders to align sourcing strategy with digital transformation goals.
• Identify and deliver value through cost optimization, supplier consolidation, and innovation-led sourcing.
• Manage RFPs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contracts using e-sourcing tools.
• Negotiate complex global technology agreements with attention to risk and service levels.
• Oversee strategic supplier relationships, governance, and continuous improvement.
• Embed procurement early in technology planning and investment decisions.
