Job summary

Acadia Pharmaceuticals seeks an experienced tax leader to oversee the global tax function, including corporate income, indirect, transfer pricing, and tax planning initiatives. Lead a high-performing team, optimize tax strategies, and work with executives to mitigate risk and drive growth.

The role partners with Finance and external advisors to maximize tax benefits and ensure ASC 740-10 compliance across global markets. Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• CPA or Master's in Taxation required.
• 15+ years progressive corporate tax, accounting, or finance experience.
• 10+ years leadership experience with people management.
• Strong knowledge of federal, international, and multi-state taxation.
• Knowledge of GAAP and SOX.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience with tax provision software and ERP systems.
• Strong judgment and goal orientation.
• Collaborative mindset with ability to influence senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute federal, state, and global tax planning strategies.
• Oversee quarterly and annual tax accounting including ASC 740-10 and disclosures.
• Oversee preparation of global tax returns and payments.
• Direct global transfer pricing strategy and intercompany pricing policies.
• Support international expansion and tax-efficient operating structures.
• Lead R&D tax credit strategy and compliance.
• Collaborate with finance for reporting and planning.
• Develop tax forecasts for long-range projections.
• Monitor tax law changes and impact on the company.
• Manage external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants.
• Oversee indirect tax compliance and property tax returns.
