Confidential is seeking a Director, Global Tax to join its corporate finance leadership team in Chicago. You will shape tax strategy, drive global tax processes, and play a key role in value creation initiatives with direct reporting to the CFO.

The role offers high visibility, engagement with executive leadership, and involvement in M&A, international tax, and tax controls in a sponsor-backed growth company.

Qualifications

• Approximately 7-12 years of progressive tax experience.
• Big Four or nationally recognized public accounting firm experience.
• Achieved Manager level or above in public accounting.
• Deep expertise in U.S. federal taxation, income tax provision, ETR analysis, and tax memorandum preparation.
• Experience supporting audits and financial reporting requirements.
• International tax exposure is a plus.
• Ability to operate independently while influencing stakeholders across a complex organization.
• Strong communication, executive presence, and business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead U.S. federal income tax matters.
• Manage global tax provision and effective tax rate processes.
• Prepare and review tax memoranda supporting quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Partner with external auditors and advisors.
• Advise business leaders on income tax implications of strategic decisions.
• Support M&A activity, integrations, and international tax considerations.
• Drive process improvement and strengthen tax controls in a growing global organization.
• Serve as the primary tax resource across multiple operating businesses.
