Global SVP/VP of Sales & Business Development - Remote

A leading growing global biotechnology research firm specializing in drug discovery and development, particularly through its innovative use of DNA-encoded library (DEL) technology, is seeking a Global SVP/VP of Sales & Business Development. He/She will be responsible for all global sales operations and the position can be based remotely from anywhere in the world, ideally close to their Boston, MA (US) and UK locations. This growing CRO/CDO firm partners with global pharmaceutical and biotech companies to accelerate the identification of novel drug candidates across various therapeutic areas. The company is recognized for its cutting-edge platform that facilitates the discovery of small-molecule therapeutics, significantly enhancing the efficiency and success rate of drug development programs. Its collaborations span across the globe, reflecting a strong commitment to advancing healthcare solutions.

Required Experience:

• 15+ years business development experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry (including CROs).

Required Education:

• Advanced degree in Chemistry or life sciences; PhD preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Key Duties, Activities and Responsibilities:
• Lead business development functions to achieve company’s annual revenue and profit targets.
• Develop a high performing BD organization to meet company’s strategy objectives;
• Contribute to the company’s overall strategy and management.
• Use own expertise to provide strategic oversight on the company’s research capability development and innovation.
• Participate and make presentations on behalf of company at partnering events and other various conference and networking events.

Work Experience, Skills and Education Required:
• Advanced degree in Chemistry or life sciences; PhD preferred;
• 15+ years business development experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry (including CROs).
• Demonstrated career track record of superior sales performance.
• Leadership experience managing global teams of 5-10 Sales/BD executives.
• Have clearly demonstrable sale and track record through driving drug discovery services, collaborations and licensing deals of significant size.
• Strong business acumen; ability to translate scientific and technical information to create partnering opportunity and to influence decisions or issues with business impact;
• Ability to influence company strategy at the highest level.
• Strong networking, organizational, analytic and negotiation skills as well as sound judgment.
• Good understanding of industry trends and the competitive landscape.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English.
• Self-motivated and can act independently and decisively.
• Have the permission to work in the chosen country.
