Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Global Supply Manager to support Rivian’s engineered products and manage supplier qualification, cost breakdown analysis, and selection scorecards. This on-site Irvine, CA role focuses on RFIs/RFQs, POs, and cross-functional collaboration to meet quality, timing, and cost targets.

The position is entry-level to mid-level in nature for procurement within Interiors, Exteriors, and related areas, with 10-25% travel and room to grow within the automotive supply base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of direct procurement experience.
• Fundamental understanding of the procurement lifecycle and factors of impact including economic, political, and technology landscapes.
• Prior experience with automotive commodities (such as Interiors, Exteriors, Closures, or Seating) is highly preferred but not required; entry-level opportunities available.
• Proficiency in navigating SAP, Basecamp, and RFI/RFQ processes.
• Active listener with clear status updates and effective communication.
• Ability to execute discrete tasks and follow established procedures to respond to routine problems.
• Follows specific instructions and standardized procedures; relies on feedback to correct issues.
• Travel average 10-25% based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing: Complete initial qualification of suppliers based on defined requirements for Interiors, Seating & Restraints, Exteriors & Lighting, or Closures; analyze cost breakdowns and develop scorecards.
• Systems & Process: Place RFI/RFPs and purchase orders in SAP and Basecamp timely and accurately.
• Technical Understanding: Support team with supplier prospecting and broader sourcing process understanding.
• Negotiations: Provide data/insight for negotiation preparation with manager oversight.
• Supplier Management: Drive cost transparency and maintain communication on NDAs, POs, and contracts.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and manage expectations.
• Project Management & Risk Mitigation: Identify and communicate risks within defined scope to achieve project KPIs.
