Job summary

Abbott is hiring for a Global Supply Chain Risk Manager to protect supply continuity, performance, and brand reputation across a complex global network. You will drive enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, and mitigation with stakeholders in procurement, operations, quality, and finance.

You will lead the SCR program, leverage AI and predictive analytics to improve risk visibility, and develop mitigation strategies across suppliers and functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, procurement, logistics, or related disciplines.
  • Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating supply chain and supplier-related risks in a global environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization, including executive leadership.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience utilizing data to drive business decisions.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and succeed in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience working across global teams and diverse cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously enhance Abbott’s enterprise-wide supply chain and supplier risk management strategy and resilience roadmap.
  • Design, implement, and manage the Supply Chain Resilience (SCR) program, including governance, metrics, reporting, supply chain mapping, and associated tools.
  • Leverage AI, predictive analytics, and risk intelligence capabilities to proactively identify potential supply chain disruptions and improve risk visibility.
  • Monitor and assess supplier and third-party risks, including financial, operational, geopolitical, sustainability, logistics, business continuity, and single-source risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments, scenario planning, and resilience analyses to prioritize risks based on likelihood, impact, and business criticality.
  • Develop and drive mitigation strategies, including alternate sourcing, dual qualification, inventory optimization, and contractual risk controls.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Procurement, Operations, Quality, Finance, ESG, Global Security, Government Affairs, Customs & Trade, and Logistics to embed risk management into business processes and sourcing decisions.
  • Establish and facilitate governance through the Supply Chain Resilience Community of Practice to drive accountability and execution of mitigation actions.
  • Collaborate with business teams to develop resilience metrics and scorecards that measure and improve supply chain resilience performance.
  • Provide executive-level reporting, insights, and recommendations on emerging risks, trends, and mitigation progress.
  • Support business leaders during supply disruptions by delivering data-driven analysis and strategic recommendations.

The Opportunity

Join Abbott in a newly created Global Supply Chain Risk Manager role where you will help protect supply continuity, business performance, and brand reputation across a complex global network. As a key leader in Abbott’s Supply Chain Resilience program, you will drive enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies while partnering with stakeholders across procurement, operations, logistics, finance, quality, and executive leadership to strengthen supply chain resilience and ensure continued access to Abbott products worldwide.

What You’ll Work On

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide supply chain resilience, risk management, business continuity, or supplier risk programs.
  • Knowledge of supplier risk frameworks, supply chain mapping, and resilience best practices.
  • Experience managing supplier disruptions, crisis response, and escalation processes on a global scale.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, ERP systems, and supply chain analytics tools.
  • Experience leveraging AI-driven risk monitoring, predictive analytics, and machine learning capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of geopolitical, sustainability, financial, and operational risk factors impacting global supply chains.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, metrics, and risk reporting frameworks.
