Job summary

Novanta Corporation in Irvine is seeking a Director, Supply Chain to lead global commodity and supplier strategies, drive cost competitiveness, and partner across Operations, Engineering and Finance. You will manage executive-level supplier negotiations and build resilient sourcing solutions that enable innovation and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, procurement, strategic sourcing, or supplier management within manufacturing or tech.
• Proven success in executive-level supplier negotiations and long-term partnerships delivering measurable value.
• Strong business acumen with spend analytics, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation expertise.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across stakeholders from individual contributors to executives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global commodity and supplier strategies to support growth, continuity, risk mitigation and cost competitiveness.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, leading major executive negotiations and long-term partnerships.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Program Management for new product introductions and cost reductions.
• Lead supplier performance management and risk mitigation using market intelligence and analytics for continuous improvement.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing supply chain team focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
