Job description

Global Supply Chain Analyst – Indirect Procurement

Industry: Advanced Manufacturing | Energy | Industrial Operations

The Opportunity

An expanding advanced-manufacturing and energy organisation is seeking a Global Supply Chain Analyst to support the procurement of indirect goods and services across multiple operational sites.

This is a hands-on, analytical procurement position focused on equipment rentals, contract labour, staffing, facilities and MRO. You will help create the spend visibility, supplier agreements and purchasing processes required to support fast-moving construction, manufacturing and facilities operations.

You will work closely with construction, operations, facilities, EHS, HR, legal and finance while managing sourcing events, analysing supplier costs and improving contract compliance.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Collect, clean and analyse indirect spend by category, location and supplier.
  • Maintain accurate spend reporting as the organisation’s source of truth.
  • Support category strategies for equipment rentals, contract labour, facilities and MRO.
  • Identify supplier-consolidation and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Run RFQs and RFPs from initial issue through supplier evaluation and award recommendation.
  • Compare supplier quotations and build total-cost-of-ownership models.
  • Support supplier negotiations covering pricing, rate cards, rental terms and master agreements.
  • Track rental equipment across multiple sites, including rates and rental duration.
  • Produce rent-versus-buy analysis for long-term equipment requirements.
  • Benchmark contingent-labour rates and standardise job classifications.
  • Audit staffing-agency invoices against agreed rates, mark-ups and approved headcount.
  • Load preferred suppliers, catalogues and contracted pricing into purchasing systems.
  • Establish supplier performance measures covering delivery, pricing and contract compliance.
  • Resolve late deliveries, invoice discrepancies, purchase-order issues and service problems.
  • Produce monthly reports covering indirect spend, realised savings, price changes and commercial risks.
  • Develop procurement playbooks and preferred-supplier lists for new operational sites.
What We’re Looking For
  • Two to five years’ experience within procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, supply‑chain analysis, operational finance or a related analytical role.
  • Strong Excel and data‑analysis skills.
  • Experience building cost models using incomplete or unstructured information.
  • Understanding of the strategic‑sourcing process, including RFx events, quote comparison and supplier selection.
  • Experience extracting and reconciling spend data from an ERP or procure‑to‑pay platform.
  • Familiarity with systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Coupa or Ariba.
  • Strong written communication and the ability to convert detailed analysis into clear commercial recommendations.
  • Confidence working directly with suppliers and internal operational teams.
  • Ability to prioritise independently within a fast‑paced and developing environment.
  • Willingness to work onsite and visit warehouses, facilities and active job sites.

Particularly Relevant Experience

Experience involving any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Equipment or heavy‑plant rentals
  • MRO and facilities procurement
  • Temporary labour or staffing‑agency spend
  • VMS or MSP platforms
  • Construction or industrial contracting
  • Manufacturing, mining, energy or heavy industry
  • Supplier rate cards and invoice auditing

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or finance is preferred, although equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Why Apply?

  • Join a rapidly expanding advanced‑manufacturing environment.
  • Gain exposure to several high‑value indirect procurement categories.
  • Run complete sourcing events and contribute directly to supplier‑selection decisions.
  • Work closely with construction, manufacturing, finance and operational leadership.
  • Build procurement processes and category strategies rather than simply maintaining an established system.
  • Contribute to the development of a more sustainable domestic energy supply chain.
