Job summary

Magna Electronics is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to partner with suppliers, drive quality improvements, and lead containment and corrective actions. You will evaluate supplier processes, lead PPAP and APQP activities, and support new product launches to sustain top-tier quality in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, automotive industry preferred.
• Able to utilize standard measuring equipment and specialized equipment such as gages.
• Strong knowledge in PCB board assembly and fabrication.
• Knowledge of semiconductor devices and their characteristics is an asset.
• Ability to calculate and analyze data, generate reports, and present information.
• Demonstrated knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and Continuous Improvement (Kaizen).
• Capable of working independently with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage several large projects.
• Demonstrated ability to research, recommend, and oversee implementation of new products, materials, processes.
• Travel 10-20% occasionally.
• Experience in dynamic manufacturing environments and multitasking.
• Proven experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead Supplier 8D’s on all supplier product issues in an urgent and timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with Suppliers on issues regarding their Product Quality.
• Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
• Develop correction action plans with suppliers to address process failures.
• Lead implementation of all Containment activities in plant (Supplier Related).
• Support new product launches to ensure supplier quality meets required standards.
• Ensure supplier process controls meet reliability and capability levels.
• Validate and approve Supplier PPAPs in a timely manner.
• Manage yearly PPAPs for carryover products and maintain PPAP records.
• Conduct Supplier audits as required to ensure accuracy of internal systems and processes.
• Coordinate cost recovery for supplier-related topics.
• Develop and maintain supplier boundary/PPAP samples.
