Job summary

The University of Texas at El Paso is seeking a dedicated international student advisor to support immigration, advising, and campus engagement. The role involves SEVIS management as the Designated School Official and advising students on F-1/J-1 requirements, CPT/OPT, and status maintenance.

You will coordinate with Study Abroad, international recruiters, and campus partners to enhance student success and ensure compliance, while providing information sessions and workshops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Two years of related experience.
• Experience with diverse and international populations.
• Ability to read, comprehend and apply complex regulations and convey them.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternative Responsible Officer (ARO) for SEVIS maintenance.
• Explain and apply F-1, J-1 regulations to students.
• Advise on visa categories and employment eligibility.
• Monitor student immigration status and maintain records.
• Provide comprehensive advising and case management to international students.
• Support program development and campus engagement initiatives.
• Coordinate with Study Abroad and other international programs.
