Job summary

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. is seeking a Sr Director of Commissioning to own the global standard Commissioning Process and guide regional managers in implementing it. The role involves KPI tracking, process improvements, and ensuring consistency across projects.

The position requires extensive experience in data center commissioning, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate large-scale DC builds, with up to 35% travel and remote work expectations.

Your role at a glance

The Sr Director of Commissioning is responsible for owning the global standard Commissioning Process document and program, enabling regional Commissioning Managers to successfully implement the standard and be a resources for regional Commissioning Managers.

What we are looking for

KEY responsibilities

• Primary responsibility for owning the standard commissioning program globally.
• Enables the regional commissioning managers to implement the global commissioning program to include KPI’s and continuous improvement such that repeat deficiencies are not occurring and are not impacting commissioning activities.
• Refines practices/policies and develops methods/techniques for driving solutions for commissioning procedures.
• Regularly reviews regional portfolio level construction progress, commissioning progress, issues, and KPI metrics and assists where necessary to deliver business results.
• This role requires occasional on-site presence with travel globally as needed to assist teams implementing the standard or projects that need additional support.
• Have responsibility for other assigned initiatives

KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES

• Demonstrated expertise in Commissioning of datacenters
• Technical knowledge of datacenter construction, means and methods, all systems with specialist knowledge on MEP systems.
• Have ability to plan and setup “Mega” projects with speed to market that matches the fastest in the industry.
• Agile team leader who is additive to the team, will develop employees and seek to further success
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

Degree required – technical degree, electrical engineering preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Use of sight, hearing and voice are required as well as motor skills.
• Close visual work on a computer terminal.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
• Ability to climb ladders and worked on raised platforms.
• Ability to transition through construction projects at every phase safely

Work conditions & other requirements

This position is expected to be remote for the foreseeable future with occasional need to be on site

Typical data center work environment with varying temperatures and loud noises.

Extensive daily usage of a computer or workstation.

Travel up to 35%, to ensure quality, commission and deliver the project as client turn over dates require.

Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.

Must be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment shifting priorities.

Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on-call support.

Must be available by cell phone after hours or for emergency situations.

CPR/First Aid Certified.

Compensation Pay Range

“This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device. NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $195,700 - $310,000. All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance. Employees receive paid time-off, medical, dental, and vision benefits, life and supplemental insurance, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending account, and 401k retirement plan to create a rich Total Rewards package.”
