Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Global Sourcing Manager to lead supplier qualification, cost estimation, and strategic sourcing for new product introductions. You will partner with R&D to secure value, quality, and timely material supply while expanding supplier capabilities and mitigating risk.

The role requires up to 20% international travel, strong negotiation, and data-driven decision-making. You will influence supply-chain strategy and drive continuous improvement across vendors.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years post-graduate experience in strategic sourcing, manufacturing, or supplier quality roles.
• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% for supplier audits and relationship-building.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and yield improvements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• High attention to detail and data-analysis skills.
• Independent yet collaborative, able to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify suppliers for new product introductions with R&D.
• Own PFEP in NPI BOM; manage supplier selection, negotiation, and contracts for value, quality, and risk.
• Communicate technical requirements between suppliers and Formlabs R&D.
• Research new manufacturing technologies to strengthen supply-chain strategies.
• Lead negotiations, manage supplier performance and mitigate supply risks.
• Collaborate with R&D to drive supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness.
• Model costs and estimate material costs for new products.
• Source material from suppliers and CMOs for timely NPI builds.
• Provide clear reports on material availability, schedules, and program costs for leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Work directly with R&D to identify and qualify suppliers for new product introductions


• Own a PFEP (Plan for every part) in an NPI BOM - Manage supplier selection, negotiation, and contract execution to secure optimal value, quality, and risk mitigation


• Facilitate communication of technical requirements between Suppliers and Formlabs R&D team


• Proactively research new manufacturing technologies or market intelligence to create robust supply chain strategies.


• Identify supply risks, leads negotiations, and drives continuous improvement in supplier performance and sourcing processes


• Accountable for leading, tracking and working with R&D to lead supplier manufacturing process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes]


• Own for cost modelling & cost estimation work of new products


• Work directly with our suppliers and contract manufacturers to source and procure material in time for NPI builds


• Maintain clear‑to‑build reports ahead of NPI builds and provide senior leadership updates on material availability, schedule, and programme cost

About You

• 1-5 years post graduate experience working in a strategic sourcing,manufacturing, or supplier quality engineering role


• Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience


• Able to travel internationally (up to 20%) to visit suppliers for quality audits, QBRs, and relationship building


• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills


• Experience developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving yield improvements


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T


• High attention to detail and skills in data analysis


• An independent worker and team player who is excited to work cross‑functionally with a wide variety of teams

Bonus Skills

• 3D CAD design, particularly Solidworks


• 2+ years experience with electronics and reading schematics


• Advanced use of spreadsheets

At Formlabs, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location and expected impact on the organisation.

The Annual Base Pay Range For This Role Is

$75,000—$111,000 USD
