Job summary

Toyoda Gosei Americas, headquartered in Troy, MI, is seeking a Buyer in the Purchasing department to drive cost savings, manage RFQs, negotiate with suppliers, and support new program launches with a global perspective.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field and 1–4 years of purchasing experience, with a willingness to broaden knowledge across commodities and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, business or related field.
• 1–4 years of experience in purchasing is required.
• Willingness to expand to other commodities and learn all aspects of purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Drive cost savings initiatives and annual price review with suppliers.
• Lead negotiations for cost reductions and price increases with suppliers.
• Support VA/VE activities and cross functional collaboration.
• Issue, collect, negotiate and analyze RFQs and cost breakdowns.
• Contribute to commodity strategy development and supplier performance.
• Communicate with global teams on material strategies and scheduling.
• Manage purchase orders and ensure approvals for upcoming purchases.
• Travel to TG manufacturing plants and suppliers as needed.
• Engage in continuous improvement and kaizen activities.
