Vylor is seeking a Global Seed Operations Quality intern to support experimental design and data-driven evaluation of seed viability, vigor, and purity. The role spans imaging, sensors, automation, and ML within a collaborative lab environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in agronomy, plant science, seed science, agricultural engineering, biological engineering, data science, computer science, statistics, or related discipline.
  • Strong interest in agricultural innovation, seed technology, experimentation, or data-driven problem-solving.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
  • Availability to work in Johnston, Iowa, May–August 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Experimental design and innovation: support the design, planning, execution, and documentation of seed-quality experiments using emerging technologies.
  • Data analysis: organize and analyze data from imaging systems, sensors, and diagnostic platforms.
  • Machine-learning support: assist with data preparation, testing approaches, and evaluation of results.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: work with scientists, engineers, and data analysts to prototype tools and workflows.
  • Documentation and quality: maintain records and communicate risks and findings.
  • Project presentation: present findings to Global Seed Operations Quality team and partners.
