Job summary

The New York Times Company is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Regional Security Operations to lead our unified global security program from New York and oversee teams across offices worldwide. You will design scalable security architecture, establish governance, and maintain operational resilience, guiding in-house and contract personnel with a focus on consistent service delivery.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years experience in physical security and leadership of others.
• Experience in scaling security operations within a global organization, moving toward proactive, intelligence-led, technology-driven architecture.
• Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring and developing staff to perform at high levels and holding a team accountable for achieving its goals.
• Skill in managing conflict and responding to team, employee, or stakeholder problems consistent with established procedures, company culture, and workplace norms.
• Demonstrated experience engaging and developing collaborative relationships and influence within a team, across departments, and at all levels.
• Demonstrated experience with security technology systems, end-user support and ticketing systems, including access control, visitor management, video monitoring systems, and latest AI and detection technologies.
• Crisis management and emergency response planning experience.
• The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, roles, responsibilities and managing multiple tasks at once.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a global security operations architecture across New York, U.S. and 8 international offices and 33 bureaus.
• Lead and develop a high-performing, globally distributed team with accountability and cross-functional support.
• Oversee daily management, scheduling, incident reports, logs, and organizational change at the day-to-day level.
• Proactively identify, assess and mitigate physical security threats with GSOC and building security teams.
• Represent security leadership to other departments and stakeholders in scheduled meetings.
• Serve as deputy to the Executive Director, Corporate Security, for operational tasks and strategic objectives.
