Job summary

Meta seeks a leader to join Global Security - Design, Engineering, and Construction (DEC) to advance physical security infrastructure within Meta's built environment. Qualifications

Summary

Meta is seeking a leader experienced to become part of our Global Security - Design, Engineering, and Construction (DEC) team. The DEC team endeavors to advance the state of physical security infrastructure and building systems through strategic and innovative solutions. The design & engineering position will support projects within the built environment by creating and continuously improving design products, processes, and tools that enable efficient and scalable physical security solutions. Projects may include supporting Meta’s executives, new technology initiatives, and built environments where we outsource security to third parties. They will endeavor to develop, facilitate, and streamline processes to improve efficiency and consistency in how physical security infrastructure and other building systems are designed and delivered to empower Global Workplace Services (GWS) overall mission to deliver first class workspaces for the business.Candidates should understand critical aspects of project design such that they can guide scalable design solutions for both technology and non-technology solutions within the built environment. This includes working with various cross-functional teams within GWS and Global Security to ensure physical security standards are properly integrated into GWS’s processes to provide predictability in security design and execution. Specific responsibilities are listed below.

Required Skills

Global Security Design & Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

1. Ideation: Identify & prioritize problem statements that address Meta’s business needs for the built environment.

2. Design Standards & Product Development: Create new [or improve existing] products, design standards, or services to deliver solutions that address organizational needs.

3. Resource Planning: Develop annual forecasting and resource allocation strategy for design, construction, and support services based on ongoing and projected pipeline projects.

4. This will require a complete understanding and awareness of global business strategy for and their associated projects.

5. Stakeholder Alignment: Achieve consensus from all stakeholders regarding the adoption of new product or design standards by fostering an inclusive forum for collaboration.

6. Global Standards: Incorporate new products, design standards, and services into existing workflows, processes, frameworks, and trainings to execute at scale.

7. Continuous Improvement: Review and arbitrate proposed product updates and standards modifications.

8. Update design & delivery documents in line with evolving design standards or products for consistency and stakeholder management.

9. Project Due Diligence: Assess security risk and business risk during early project phases to influence design strategy.

10. Project Management: Provide administration and oversight of all vendor contracts for design & construction.

11. Actively engage key stakeholders to drive alignment.

12. Design Development: Responsible for a well-defined and coordinated set of documents that capture project design intent and all relevant standards and guidelines.

13. This will require attending meetings and working across all levels of the organization to provide background and educate both technical and non-technical stakeholders on the design requirements.

14. Design Coordination: Support integration of physical security and other building system design elements into civil, landscape, structural, architectural, and electrical design elements.

15. Design Verification: Review design documents to ensure alignment with relevant standards and guidelines.

16. Project Execution: Actively manage the end-to-end process of delivering physical security infrastructure and technology projects ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

17. Vendor Management: Provide administration and oversight of all vendor master service agreements, scope of works, and contracts for design & construction.

18. Actively engage key stakeholders to drive alignment.

19. Facilitate quarterly business reviews with vendors.

20. Project Management: Lead & facilitate the various processes and stakeholders to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and timely completion of project construction that is on budget.

21. Construction Support: Analyzes and resolves construction process problems and issues and effectively communicates and interfaces with all levels of organization.

22. Respond to all escalated RFIs and change orders.

23. Construction Verification: Validate construction with design documents, technical standards, and regulatory requirements prior to project completion.

24. Document deviations and variances.

25. Retrofits: Assess and implement modifications to existing projects while maintaining alignment with cross functional partners and organizational strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (MEP, Architectural, Structural, or Civil), Construction Management, or a related field. A combination of education and work experience or simply work experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree

2. 5+ years of work experience in large scale corporate/technology/industrial design, construction, operations, and maintenance or similar experience in commercial office space construction

3. In-depth knowledge of the building construction discipline, including project design (codes, standards, etc) and delivery methodologies (contracts, documents schedules, etc)

4. Experience preparing annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly reports for multiple projects and/or programs

5. Experience with physical security principles, including commonly used concepts, strategies, practices, and procedures

6. Experience prioritizing requests, managing projects, and working with large project teams to meet target delivery dates

7. Experience with communicating technical details to all organizational levels, including non-technical personnel

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Advanced degree in Engineering (MEP, Architectural, Structural, or Civil), Construction Management, or a related field

2. Physical Security Certification [PSP, CPP, CPTED, etc]

3. 10+ years of experience in the field or in a related area preferred. Work experience in all disciplines of construction (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and security/low voltage) preferred

4. Experience with low voltage security systems or other building systems

5. Experience with site selection, due diligence, and master planning of large-scale mission critical projects or other campus-style projects

6. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

7. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

8. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
